Founder and Co-Director of ExCo

Jake is a passionate Exercise Scientist who has made it his mission to empower people through exercise so that they can improve their health, function, and performance. He specialises in movement and rehabilitative strategies to treat and manage complex and often recurring musculoskeletal conditions.

Jake has always been involved in sport, specifically rugby, cricket, golf, and athletics. It was hurdling that allowed him to travel and compete overseas, whilst also studying at Loughborough University in the UK. It was throughout this period that Jake’s approach to movement and high-performance coaching evolved with exposure to some of the world’s best therapists, lecturers, and coaches.

With over 15 years experience helping people overcome injury and performance deficits, he continues to evolve his evidence-based approach with a special interest in neuro-respiratory influences on people’s motor control and movement patterns. Specifically, Jake has a special interest in running and gait retraining as well as injury prevention and performance optimisation for rotary sports such as tennis and golf.

Although Jake continues to coach high performing Olympic athletes, his main passion is delivering long term solutions to people’s health and performance through an integrative approach that can be applied to people from all walks of life.

Outside of ExCo, Jake enjoys cooking and regularly entertains for family and friends. In his downtime, he loves to play golf, go fishing and when time permits, travel with his wife to explore new cities, cuisines and cultures.

Jake has a unique approach for his clients focusing on the source of the problem rather than the symptoms.
